Angel Mist - 2.5 fl. oz. , (Waffle Cone)
This refreshing Body & Hair mist is super duper for leaving the body fresh, and amazing at detangling the hair.
The scent of that crisp, baked to sugary perfection, wafer-like pastry cone that nestles your favorite ice cream flavor! Mix it deliciously good with any of our ice-cream flavors for a true Summer treat!
I bought this in an attempt to find a dupe of Demeter's Waffle Cone. So far I've tried three different Waffle Cone scents from e-tailers, including this one. Unfortunately, this one doesn't meet my expectations, although it came highly recommended by other users (ha) and members on MUA as well as the MMU forums. To me, it smells more like some kind of cookie, possibly something nutty, or coconut-y. Not coconut in an offensive way, though. It smells like it would be crunchy, haha. Maybe like macaroons. Or actually, somewhat like Dad's Oatmeal Cookies (which I had last week). Hmm. So it's not bad, but I won't be buying this scent again as it's not what I was hoping for.
The container is a brushed aluminum type bottle, with a black spray pump top. Leaves a nice mist. It's not heavily scented, so I'll probably use it in my hair or on my sheets or something. I don't get major tangles in my hair so I can't really tell if it's helping or not.
Body LUX - 1 oz. - Sample , (Chocolate Truffle)
Like Silky "Dutch Chocolate", this luscious, creamy oh so fabulous scent can only be described as totally decadent! This is every chocolate lovers dream sniff!
I bought three sample-sized lotions to get both a sense of the smell, and the different lotions (I think MMU has 5 lotion formulas, and that's not including the body butters or the body creams, aiya).
Ooh, I think I quite like this. Yes, it does have a bit of a fake chocolate scent, but also a nice cocoa buttery scent, as well as that smell of packaging that once held chocolate. Like, the paper liners from a box of chocolates. I think I'll be ordering something else in this scent. I quite like this lotion formula, it's quite rich and thick, and I have dry skin so I need a good dose of moisture.
The sample container is a fairly standard squeezy tube with the thing you click open at the top. Yeah, very descriptive.
Jojoba-E Body Lotion - 1 oz. - Sample , (Be Mine, Chocolat!)
Belgian and White Chocolate infused with fruit-y additions of love berries: Strawberry, Raspberry, and just a hint of warm, sweet cream. It's like a chocolate fondue for the body beautiful! ~EMS
OMG I just realised what this smells like. When I was little (possibly when my sister was in the hospital with appendicitis, I'm not sure, I seem to be flashbacking to a hospital for some reason) I had a raspberry chocolate Lip Smackers. Possibly an Easter edition, as I'm also flashbacking to a plastic bunny-shaped container. That is what this smells like, creamy raspberry-chocolate Lip Smackers, and childhood. Minus the trauma of having a hospitalized sister. I may have to get a something in this scent, possibly a larger lotion. I think I also detect a slight liqueur note- or maybe what I would expect a raspberry-chocolate martini to smell like. Hello, Chambord!
This lotion formula is also very rich and nice, I'm not sure if I can really tell the difference between this one and the Body Lux. Actually, I think this one is thicker and richer.
Silk Body Luster - 1 oz. - Sample , (Foreplay)
A sensual blending of fondue chocolate, whipped cream with vanilla and sugar, and juicy strawberries! ~EMS
I can't really review this scent right now because my nose has become numb for the time being. But when I smelled it in the bottle earlier, I didn't smell any strawberry; mostly just the fondue chocolate. Not bad, but I don't know if I'll be ordering it again.
I won't be buying this lotion again- the texture is fine, but on the skin, something in the base overpowers everything else- I think it might be the sunflower oil or soy bean oil or something. It has this nutty oily smell, which I don't like.
French Connection - 15 ml - Purse Size , (Dark Chocolate Supreme)
We've been using this wonderful and true Dark Chocolate fragrance in some of our scent blends, and we asked ourselves just the other day, "Now, why isn't it listed as a one note fragrance in our scent menu bar?" Duh, we don't know, but it's here now! It's incredibly rich and chocolately all on its own and it finally deserves to be recognized! So here it is, MMU fiends and dark chocolate lovers! A great Dark Chocolate sniff! Like we said great on its own, but a wonderful chocolate mixer as well! We love it with White Mud Cake, Cream Cheese Frosting, Pumpkin Pie, Creme Brulee, Lemon Blondie, and countless others!
Oh, wow, what a mistake. I should have gotten this in a sample size. I have a love-hate relationship with chocolate scents- I'm still optimistic that somewhere out there exists a chocolate scent that's perfect and delicious, and won't be weird or plasticky or just wrong... and this isn't it. It's not horrible, it's just not right for me. If you've smelled Demeter's Chocolate Brownie, this is similar. That brownie batter mix type smell (I also have a complicated relationship with brownies)- but somehow tangy, almost sour. I get an almost yogurty smell out of it. I don't think it's my body chemistry (as it smells that way when not applied to my skin), although maybe it is my nose... I'm hoping that if I mix it with other scents, it will be better. Hoping. Otherwise, I have 15mL of something that's not quite right that I have to somehow dispose of. Maybe I can swap it or give it away with the other pile of stuff that isn't quite right for me :( It makes me sad because I love dark chocolate...
Ok, it no longer smells like chocolate yogurt to me. What I do get is the strong vanilla-y whiff of some kind of batter- brownie batter maybe? I was smelling it and it hit me that it was very vanilla-y, but when I went downstairs to smell the bottle of vanilla extract, the vanilla actually came out smelling "cooler"... Oh, I don't know anymore.
The container is a round glass bottle with a black pump spray top... Meh. I find the spray to leave a sort of residue on my skin, unless I rub it in. That might be due to the fact that they use a high concentration of perfume oil in the alcohol-based spray.
French Connection - Sample Vial - 1 X 2 ml. , (Iced Black Keemun Tea)
Finally, a true straight black tea scent. No perfume, no lemon, no sugar and no honey; just a strong, pure tea scent! And what a tea it is! Keemun tea from the Anhui region of China is perhaps the most famous of Chinese teas, and prized for its rich flavor, and sumptuous aroma. This fragrance is fresh and strong on it's own and also a wonderful blender with lemon and citrus scents, vanillas, and many others.
Ohh I love this. I can't even describe it right now, except that it's my favourite purchase of the lot, and I'll definitely be buying a large bottle of it. And possibly having some custom blends made. I'll try to write more coherently later.
OH GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I was just about to say, "How am going to make this 2mL last until my next order... and then I knocked the little vial over and spilled a bunch all over my desk. *cries*
French Connection - Sample Vial - 1 X 2 ml. , (Lemon Curd Ice-Cream)
Tart Lemon infused in creamy, Homemade Vanilla Ice-Cream and beautifully balanced with a dollop of Vanilla-Marshmallow Syrup. This lemon sniff is truly 'da bomb'! One of our very favorites here at MMU! ~EMS
I have mixed feelings about this. I don't know what it is, but I don't love this, although I want to. Maybe it's another body chemistry thing... I just bought a tea that's supposed to be lemon cream scented, and it smells similar. Maybe it's something in the cream note that doesn't agree with me. I don't think I will repurchase.
Hands Up - 1 oz. - Sample , (Lychee Good Bubble Tea)
Another beauty of a sniff, inspired from a great MMU fiend, called Amanda! Bubble Tea originated in Taiwan in the early 1980's at a small tea stand. Bubble drinks are usually cool, refreshing, and a sweet drink with tapioca pearls sitting on the bottom of a clear cup. Sometimes the drink is made with fresh fruits, milk, and crushed ice to create a healthy milk shake. Our wearable version is sweet and fruity with the addiiton of Lychee fruit and a hint of Mango juice notes, infused in a fresh Black Tea, Milk, and Sugar brew! ~EMS
This one smells very rich and milky and creamy and sweet. I don't think it smells particularly like Lychee bubble tea, but my friends say it does, and that it's the best lychee scent they've smelled. @__@ I like it ok, but I don't think I'll be buying it again.
The hand cream has a pudding-like consistency, and yet isn't too greasy. The sample size comes in a tub, which I'm not a big fan of.
Luscious Dust - 5 oz. , (Green Tea & White Peach)
It'll be 'love at first sniff' when you try this scent, trust us! A scent combo request by one of our loveliest fiends, Elina, we became immediately smitten after whipping up Green Tea and White Peach together. What you get is a fresh and pure Green Tea note, sweetened lightly by the fruity, sweet juiciness of the White Peach! Just gorgeous! ~EMS
This scent is delicious. At first I thought it was too peachy, and not white peach, but more of that in-your-face peach. But after a while the peach and tea scents have come together nicely and it's fruity and refreshing and lovely.
The dust/body powder itself is tricky. It comes in a container with a shaker top, and the powder is rather clumpy. I don't know if that's due to the humidity or what. The clumpiness makes it difficult to apply, and I'm still trying to figure out how to use it. Another problem is that because it contains starch, if your skin is too moist, then it sticks and then dries to a hard mess. Which is terrible because the whole reason for me to use this stuff is to avoid the sticky feeling behind my knees, etc after a shower... I tried using a powder puff today, but I came back to find that now the powder puff is all stiff and hard from where the moisture and powder mixed... *sigh*
-Purity Parfum perfume oil vial: Soft Heart
A sumptuous blend that can only be called Soft Heart due to its soft, 'big heart' feel. It's something of sweet delight (go ahead and squeal, it's really that good!) when this sniff mingles with skin! Everything about Soft Heart is, well soft and delicate, yet it's concocted with rich, lush notes of Cocoa Powder accord, Milk Chocolate, Honey, and subtle additions of Sweet Orange and Lemon essential oils. ~EMS
I haven't used this one much, but it's nice. Sort of like a Terry's Chocolate Orange.
-Silk Body Luster: Pumpkin Pie
A man-magnet Pumpkin Pie scent with the best spicy notes, delicious pumpkin pie filling notes, and a super pie crust sniff all rolled into one!
I'm not a big fan of pumpkin pie. And I don't like spicy foody scents. So, no.
-SheShe Dish Hair Conditioner: Cranberry Spice
A tart, true cranberry fragrance highlighted with ginger, cinnamon, clove, and cardamom. A wonderful cranberry spice aroma that is very popular during the Holiday season!
I like cranberry juice and cranberry scented things. But again, no to the spices. Holy crap, I can't even smell the cranberry in this one.
